Holy cow! I can’t believe it’s been one week already. This week has been full of team building activities, worship, and rejoicing in the goodness of God.

Living in a tent is certainly a new experience and eating two halves of a tortilla, cucumbers, and honey for lunch was interesting but through it all, God is good. He is present and He is here, moving. Philippians 4:11-13 says, “I don’t say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I find myself. I know how to make do with little, and I know how to make do with a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content – whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me.” Being outside of my comfort zone has made me rely on the Lord like I never have before. When I’m tired or hungry, or frustrated at the fact that I’m living in a tent city with 38 other people, “my heart is glad and my whole being rejoices; my body also rests securely” (Psalm 16) because I know that I can find peace in the blood of Christ and that He is sufficient for me. In the uncomfortable, Jesus is my comfort. In the chaos, Jesus is my peace. In the uncertainty, Jesus is my refuge.

While living with 38 other people all of the sudden has definitely been quite the change, God has been faithful to show me the value and blessing of community. It’s only been a week but we’ve laughed together, cried together, and praised the Lord together! W Squad is already one giant family and I look forward to how we continue to grow together over the next 9 months. We’ve seen healing, physically and spiritually. We’ve seen baptisms and restoration. God is moving among His people and I cannot wait to see how He continues to move over this next year.

Much love from Gainesville!
